"JX Ranch Natural Beef " is from animals that are born and raised on our ranch, have received no antibiotics, growth-hormones or animal by-products whatsoever.  Our beef is entirely range-raised, and therefore high in healthy Omega-3 fatty acids.  The cattle are handled in a no-stress manner, and raised in its natural environment throughout its entire life, and will provide you and your family with healthy, wholesome and lean meat. 

 

HOW TO ORDER YOUR BEEF

To place your order, you send us a deposit together with your completed Custom Order Form or JX Ranch Package to reserve your whole beef, 1/2 or 1/4 of a beef (for 1/4 beef please use JX Ranch Package).  When we get close to processing day, we will weigh the animal, notify you of the amount you need to send us to complete the purchase of the animal.  (The price of a whole beef is currently $1.60/lb live weight, a 1/2 beef is $1.65, and a 1/4 beef is $1.75/lb., not including processing.)  We will then transport the animal to Fort Sumner Processing, where it will be dry-aged for 14 - 21 days for maximum tenderness and flavor, packaged as per your specifications on the order form, and frozen.  You will pay Fort Sumner Processing for their services, which we estimate, depending in the size and yield, will cost approx. $256 for a whole beef, $128 for 1/2 beef and $64 for 1/4 beef.  If you want the packaged and frozen meat sent to you out-of-state, we will inform you of the balance due including shipping before we send it to you by Fed-Ex (cooler-return refundable deposit).  Most in-State customers pick up their meat at Fort Sumner.

Estimated Total Cost & Yield

We estimate the total cost to you, including processing, to be about $4.74/lb of packaged meat on a whole young beef (approx. 307 lb of package meat), $4.88 per pound for a half or side (approx. 153 lb of packaged meat), and $5.08/lb for a quarter of a beef (equal portion of the front and hind) (approx. 77 lb. of packaged meat). This price is for all "cuts" -- steaks, roasts, hamburger, liver, heart etc. -- and includes all slaughter and processing costs.

If you are ordering 1/4 beef you need to use the JX Ranch Package, unless you are splitting 1/2 beef or more with somebody.  This is so that the buyer of the other 1/4 does not end up with lesser cuts.  On the custom order form (whole and half beef only) you may choose exactly what cuts you want, how thick you want your steaks, how big you want your roasts, and how lean you want your hamburger meat etc.  Or you can choose our JX Ranch Package which is the selection we use for our own meat.  You can ask for dog bones, kidney etc for your pets.  If you have any questions at all, please contact us and we'll be glad to help you. 

This is a rough estimate of percentage of the different cuts you should get from your beef:

Steaks (Rib, T-bone, Porterhouse, Sirloin, Flank) about 26%.
Roasts (Chuck, Arm, Sirloin Tip) about 16%
Round cuts (Eye Roast, Top Round Steaks, Bottom Round) about 7%
Hamburger (depends on how lean or fat) about 45%.
Miscellaneous (Short Ribs, Stew, liver) about 6%

 

Payment Policy

Deposits are non-refundable.  A few days prior to processing, we weight the animal, and give you the live weight.  At this time we ask that send us the remainder due to us, which needs to be received by us prior to transporting your beef to the Processor.  We cannot accept returns. 

Shipping

Local buyers can pick up their frozen cut and wrapped meat at Fort Sumner Processing.  Out-of-State orders are shipped on dry-ice using FedEx, and we will email you the tracking number.  For FedEx shipment orders, a cooler deposit is required, refunded when coolers are returned at no cost to you.  Please check with your local FedEx office that they can assure timely delivery to your address.  We will contact you when your shipment is ready and confirm a delivery date.  We are not responsible for shipping delays or damage.  Packaged meats are frozen and cooled in shipment with dry-ice by the meat processor.  Coolers are shipped on Monday for delivery by Wednesday or Thursday if Express-shipped, or by Friday if ground-shipped.  Meat should be placed in freezer immediately upon receipt.
