We are already receiving orders for our hugely popular Fall Beef Round-Up with Free Delivery  to various areas of New Mexico.  We have scheduled with our Custom Processor in Fort Sumner to bring beeves in early October, and these will then be ready early November.  As last year, we will deliver your meat boxes to various meeting points throughout New Mexico.  We usually pick the first Saturday to meet our greater Albuquerque area buyers in Edgewood, after which I head up to Santa Fe to meet customers from that general area.  The following Saturday we may go to Alamogordo to meet our southern area customers, and finally we also go to Las Vegas to meet buyers from that area.  When you place your order, you can choose which pick-up point you would like to sign up for. Generally, buyers will fork out all of ten bucks each to help with the fuel, this is not obligatory but a nice thing to do as we drive some long distances to bring you your meat.

As order keep rolling in, I would suggest you don't wait too long to get your name on the list if.  We are usually sold out by early September, and this year I would venture to guess we may very well be sold out earlier than that.  We do have a limited number of beeves, as we've already sold more than anticipated.

January 9, 2012

We had the largest ever Fall Beef Round-Up last fall, with our Free Delivery, with 22 cows sold to 48 customers throughout New Mexico and surrounding States. These were all custom processed as quarters, halves (sides) and whole beef, dry aged for three weeks, cut and wrapped into portion sized packages as per buyers orders. Thank you all for being such loyal customers and friends, and for helping spread the word about our fabulous tender, lean beef!

Saturday November 5, Mimi drove to Fort Sumner Processing and picked up the boxes with beef for all the customers in the larger Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas, drove to Edgewood through some horrendous weather, and met the customers who all had braved the weather and came to pick up their meat.  It's always a rush to get the boxes to everybody, as I need to go on to Santa Fe and meet buyers there. I wish I had more time to visit and get to know my customers.  Then on to Santa Fe, where I met customers from that area.  The following weekend I did the same beef-run down to Alamogordo, where I met customers from El Paso, TX, Las Cruces and other southern NM customers.  And the next weekend one more run to Las Vegas, NM, for our northern customers.

The Free Delivery seems to be very appreciated, and we will offer the same come fall.  We'll be taking orders for our  2012 Fall Beef Round-Up with Free Delivery throughout the spring and summer.  We have scheduled 26 cows for this year, and when they are sold, that's it folks.  So get your order in soon so you don't miss out.  We try to send out a reminder towards the end of summer, but with spam filters and what not, not everybody receives our emails.

Last fall's beeves were small, as they just didn't grow much due to the very dry conditions throughout the summer. However, the fall 2012 beeves are expected to be larger, as Mimi plans to take them to good green Nebraska grass pastures during the summer months. When they come back they should weigh in the 800-pound range, or more, and yield around 300 pounds of meat.

For those in a hurry to get some meat in their freezers, we will have one more custom butcher before fall, and that will be February 27, with the meat being ready end of March.  There will more than likely not be any delivery on these, but you can pick the meat up at Fort Sumner Processing or we can have it shipped to you via UPS Ground.

August 23, 2011 - Fall Delivery Sold Out!

SOLD OUT for Nov. Free Deliveries!  BUT, we have a few more beeves booked for November and December, and we may, or may not, be able to deliver your meat to you. If we can't, you can pick up your meat at Fort Sumner Processing, or we can ship it to you.  Contact us if you have any questions

July  10th Customer Appreciation Day / Ranch Day at the JX Ranch

What a great day we had meeting and visiting with our beef customers and their families, many of whom drove many hours to get here!  The weather cooperated and we had a sunny, and not to hot, day with just a light breeze.  Ol' Billy ever so carefully carried youngsters on his back around the front yard, while other kids pitched horse shoes.

We served our delicious (if I may say so myself...!) barbequed  brisket, home-made potato salad and beans, topped off with Mimi's famous peach cobbler and ice-cream.  After the meal, Tom stood up and talked about our ranch and range management philosophy, its holistic approach and the many benefits and results we see all around us.  (I wish I had thought of videoing his presentation - I could have put it on this website, it was very good.)

After dinner and Tom's presentation, we piled into the pickup-trucks and toured the pasture where the cows, calves and bulls were leisurely grazing.

News Release May 2010:  (beef packs have since been updated...)

We have had such a success with our Variety Pack that we decided to start offering more variety in our packs, so to speak.  As of May 2010, our customers can now choose from four different All-Natural Beef Packs.

Just in time for summer time grilling, try our All Natural Grass-fed Grill Pack (approx. 10 lb), which you will find filled with 4 succulent steaks ready for your grill, a package of Short Ribs and a pound of Kabobs, as well as several 1-lb. packages of extra-lean hamburger meat for delicious non-greasy hamburgers.  Cost $90 you pick up -  with UPS shipping $130.

For those looking for just excellent healthy ground beef for hamburgers, meatloaf, enchiladas and anything else, we offer our All-Natural Grass-fed Ground-Beef Pack  (approx. 10 lb) also in 1 lb. packages, for $55 you pick up - with UPS shipping $95.

Our ever popular All-Natural Grass-fed Variety Pack (approx. 20 lb) gives you a nice sampling of our beef.  Many try this before ordering a whole, half or a quarter of a beef.  It has 2 Sirloin Steaks one 3 - 4 lb. Roast, 2 tenderized cube steaks (great for chicken fried steaks!) 1 package of Kabobs and one of Stew Meat, a package of brisket, a pound of tender sliced calf liver and several 1-lb packages of extra-lean hamburger meat.  Cost $150 you pick up - with UPS shipping $190.

For families on a budget and mouths to feed, we came up with our All-Natural Grass-fed Family Budget Pack (approx. 20 lb).  It contains all the same items as the Variety Pack above, minus the Sirloin Steaks.  Cost $130 you pick up - with UPS shipping $170.  We do the same in a 30 lb. Pack, which means double the roasts, cube steaks, stew meat and kabobs, the rest the same. This one sells for $S190 you pick up, and $235 shipped to you.

If you would like for us to customize a Beef Pack for you, please contact us by email, or phone 575-403-6904.  And, we are of course always selling our excellent lean, healthy beef by the whole, side or quarter of a beef for those looking for the convenience of having your healthy beef readily available at any time in your freezer.
